Hi everyone! I moved to New York City just over 6 months ago and really am in love with it! I decided I was going to move here in late May of this year and then proceeded to look for work. When I applied to be a nanny I never thought it would all happen so fast! By the middle of June i was offered a job and I moved here at the beginning of July! I take care of 2 kids, John and Madison, boy and girl twins, they are 6 and way fun, though at times I could just lock em both in a closet to get some peace of mind! :) One great perk of this job is that I get to travel with the family, we have gone to Vermont, L.A., Delaware, The Hamptons, and the mom is looking into a trip to Europe for sometime this next year! And for fun I was recently able to take a little trip of my own to San Fransisco, where I got to see one of my best friends and his band, NEON TREES, open for the band The Killers! It was amazing and I had so so so much fun! Now back to my job!
I really do feel like the mom most of the time, but I do enjoy the family and the satisfaction of hard work and now truly sympathize with all you moms! Work aside, I really love it here, always so much to do and new people to meet, today I am going ice skating in Central Park, it really doesn't get much better then that:), well of course, unless you're Jim and laying on the beach? :) My ward is fun and I look forward to a little peace every Sunday when I can shut out the City and go to church! I plan on staying here awhile as I have committed to this nanny thing for at least 2 years and then we'll see where my urges take me!? I love you all and hope you have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hi Fitches,
ReplyDeleteGot your Christmas card last week and was glad to see a url where I can keep tabs on the family. D & L, you'll see our card in the mail soon.
Katie, I was just turned on to Neon Trees a week ago. The drummer, Elaine, is the sister of one of my good friends, Lynn. I have all the stuff she did with her old band, Nymb, so Lynn was filling me in on her new stuff. I like Nymb better. Crazy that you know them too.
Drop me a line sometime, anyone who wants to. bigjonlam@hotmail or my blog is bigjonlam.blogspot.com. We're having our second baby next week. Crazy!
Love you all.

P.S. My daughter and I drove over to your house one Sunday about 3 months ago and couldn't find it! I was going to surprise you, but it had been so long since I'd been there that I forgot where it was. I know I was close because I was on Alder, but I didn't see it. I tried calling info for your number and it was unlisted. Anyway, one of these days we'll try it again.
